This message is dedicated to my adoptive family and to all the parents who have offered, or wish to offer, a better life to children born in countries at war.
Hope creates opportunities. It is so strong that it can move mountains. Nowadays, when armed conflicts are globally increasing, I want to give a message of hope to all those around the world who unfortunately find themselves in the place I was 40 years ago.
For me it all began one day in 1985 in the middle of the civil war ravaging Sri Lanka. At that moment, began an adventure that would take me to the other side of the world, with a young couple from a country called “France”. This luck, even more random than a winning lottery ticket, would take me during the winter 1985-1986, far from the big French city centers. And here I am, arriving in the middle of winter at the age of barely 6 months, in a giant fridge, called the Jura Mountains.
Several years go by and the first memories settle in. An environment of joy, love, and kindness, the feeling of a normal relationship between parents and a child. A dad working for international organizations with the United Nations in Geneva, who will not hesitate to make us, my sister and I, travel around world to make us aware of how lucky we are to live and have access to everything we have.
This luck will lead me many years later to create the first airline service in the world dedicated to woman in aviation, located in Middle East, LGO AVIATION. In the continuous development of my activities, I have then created the group Valamka in order to consolidate different services with a specific expertise in consultancy: creating solutions to exploit resources in geopolitical contexts that others avoid. I just named war and conflict zones. A choice that enables my team to offer a range of tailored solutions to help human development in the most struggling countries. We have the capacity and the vision to segregate as much as possible the mechanisms of direct and indirect financing of war crime, both in the affected countries and outside.
